New Artists' Edition by Marc Camille Chaimowicz
We're delighted to announce the latest FRAME Editions collaboration - a special new artists’ edition by Marc Camille Chaimowicz co-produced with Nottingham Contemporary, created to celebrate their tenth anniversary.
The edition which comes in a frame designed by the artist, is conceived as a colour-study for a silk scarf. The repeat pattern, printed in five colours, is split into two halves to imply a fold in the fabric, front and back. Each edition is printed onto a hand-applied background in a colour which recurs in the frame design - resulting in each work being slightly different.
Part of an ongoing work, versions of Study for a Gentleman’s Dress Scarf have featured in Chaimowicz’ 2016 exhibition Now and Then at Indipendenza Roma, and in his 2018 exhibition Your Place or Mine at The Jewish Museum, New York.
Marc Camille Chaimowicz exhibited at Nottingham Contemporary in 2011 with the exhibition, Jean Genet: Act I & Act II, 2011.
