FRAME x Whitechapel Gallery Editions: Pello Irazu
We are delighted to have framed the latest edition from our partners at Whitechapel Gallery Editions: ‘Haizea M’ (2019) by Pello Irazu.
“Spanish Artist Pello Irazu is known for his sculptural works, and is considered one of the key figures in the renewal of Spanish sculpture since the beginning of his career in the 1980’s. Since the early 2000’s he has integrated photography into his practice, pressing on the distinction between two and three dimensionality in an effort to blur the boundaries that traditionally separate artistic genres. Irazu is interested in exploring the complex relationship between the viewer’s body, the artwork, and the space they both inhabit.” Whitechapel Editions.
The frame - a warm sapele wood, hand finished in a dark Walnut stain - is the thinnest profile from our gallery range, chosen to suit the artist’s requirements. It is glazed with anti-reflective glass and has a sub-frame for hanging.
